Follow the progress of the school in Daban
Here we keep track of how the school in Daban takes shape step by step. No fine promises, but what really happens on the building site and in the classroom. Every euro is accounted for and thirty euros sends one child to school for a month.

The government starts building the road
The government starts work on the road to Daban. Good news, because once it is finished the school will be far easier to reach. But until the road is ready, getting there safely is almost impossible.

The foundation is laid
Construction begins. Our own local building team lays the foundation for the school in Daban. The first stone for a place where children from the region will be able to go to school.

Restart after covid
For more than a year covid brought everything to a halt. Schools, offices and shops closed, and survival came first. In July 2021 Dennis travelled to Kumasi to see with his own eyes how the school building was doing and what was needed to carry on.

Work in progress
Work on the school building continues. Stone by stone the school comes closer to the day lessons can start.
In 2024
Walls and roofs completed as a shell
The walls are up and the roofs are closed. Forty-three classrooms stand as a shell. The frame of the school is ready, now comes the work on the inside.
In 2026· where we are now
Ready to start inside
The shell is standing. The next step is the finishing, classroom by classroom: plastering, floors, doors, windows and paint. As soon as the first classroom is ready, children can be taught there. That is what your gift is for.

Learning materials handed out to children in the region
While construction continues, we hand out learning materials to children in the region around Daban. This way we work on the education itself and not only on the walls.
